Everything has a beginning and also this second exhibition by Mariano Filippetta at dirartecontemporanea | gallery 2.0 entitled "Il Grande Mare della Notte" has his. It's the 14th September 2014; the location is the artist's studio. A white wall and three boards hanging on it. White, white candidly. To the question what they were doing and why they were lonely and detached from the blue of other works, maps, sketches the answer of Mariano was peremptory: "They are waiting for my courage to come which is necessary to strip of my body in order to go meet souls. Souls that lived in fugitives bodies to give future to unlikely present, there in their lands. "Four / five months go by and I receive an email by Mariano Filippetta with a short message / invitation: See the attachment! It was a video in which Mariano in one day in early winter, hooded inveighed something to sea. Another couple of months go by and I receive another email with an attachment and no message in it, this time. I open the attachment and with astonishment, the image of a unique work on three boards clarifies that answer given to me months ago and the reason of the video sent to me later. He had found the courage and made his own katabasis in the Mediterranean and meet, recover the soul of those crossing by who had left their bodies. A katabasis not as mythological hero bur as contemporary artist and with the never obsolete codes of painting. Light, minimal, essential. It has been hypothesized that the soul weights 21 grams and I like to think that Mariano Filippetta has never exceeded that amount of colour making the works in the gallery whose intimate and dramatic "matter is unspeakable" as realizes and writes the co-curator Flore Murard-Yovanovitch in the text accompanying the exhibition. Tutto ha un inizio ed anche questa seconda mostra di Mariano Filippetta alla dirartecontemporanea|2.0 gallery dal titolo "Il Grande Mare della Notte" ha il suo.
E' il 14 settembre del 2014; il luogo è lo studio dell'artista. Una parete bianca e tre tavole ad essa attaccate. Bianche, candidamente bianche. Alla domanda cosa e perchè stessero li solitarie e distaccate dal blu di altri lavori, carte, bozzetti la risposta perentoria di Mariano fu: " Aspettano che mi salga il coraggio, quello necessario a spogliarmi del mio corpo per andare ad incontrare anime. Anime che abitavano corpi fuggitivi per dare futuro ad improbabili presenti, lì nelle loro terre."
Trascorrono quattro/cinque mesi e mi viene notificata una mail di Mariano Filippetta con un brevissimo messaggio/invito: Guarda l'allegato!
Era un video in cui Mariano in una giornata di inizio inverno, incappucciato inveiva qualcosa al mare.
Trascorrono un altro paio di mesi ed ancora una mail con un allegato e senza alcun messaggio, questa volta. Apro l'allegato e con meraviglia l'immagine di un unico lavoro su tre tavole mi chiarisce quella risposta datami mesi addietro ed anche la ragione di quel video mandatomi successivamente. Aveva trovato il coraggio e compiuto la sua personale catabasi nel Mediterraneo ed incontrare, recuperare l'anima di quanti nell'attraversarlo vi avevano lasciato il proprio corpo.
Una catabasi non da eroe mitologico bensì da artista contemporaneo e con i codici mai obsoleti della pittura. Leggera, minima, essenziale. E' stato ipotizzato che l'anima pesi 21 grammi e mi piace pensare che Mariano Filippetta non abbia mai ecceduto tale quantità di colore nel realizzare i lavori allestiti in galleria la cui intima e drammatica " materia è l'indicibile " così come intuisce e scrive la co-curatrice Flore Murard-Yovanovitch nel testo che accompagna la mostra.
